Arriving without haggling over a taxi fare

After a flight, nobody wants to argue a fare on the kerb with suitcases in hand. With a booked transfer, the driver waits at the arrivals exit of Marrakech-Menara airport with a board in your name. The price was agreed before you left home and does not change on arrival.

Transfers start at €50. The firm price depends on the vehicle (4-seat saloon or 7-seat van) and the address; it includes fuel, tolls and parking. You receive it by email and on WhatsApp, usually within 1 h.

Put your flight number in the form: the driver works to the actual landing time. For a riad in the medina, he drops you at the nearest point a car can reach, as the last alleys are pedestrian.

A good option if you are not renting a car

Not everyone needs a steering wheel in Marrakech. If you are staying in the medina, Hivernage or Guéliz and mostly get around on foot, a rental car spends most of the stay parked. A transfer on arrival, another on departure, and a driver on the days you leave the city: that is often simpler.

It is also a sensible choice if you would rather not drive in traffic you do not know, or if you are travelling as a group with a lot of luggage: the van takes seven passengers.

Conversely, if you plan several days on the road, a car delivered at the airport will suit you better. We will tell you so plainly.

Beyond the transfer

The driver is not only there to link the airport and your accommodation. During the stay you can book him for:

• an evening: he drops you at the restaurant and brings you back, with no taxi to find at midnight;
• a full day: vehicle and driver at your disposal, at your own pace;
• a day trip: the Ourika valley, Imlil, the Ouzoud waterfalls, Essaouira or the Agafay desert, all described on the activities page.

The principle stays the same: a price given in advance, with fuel, tolls and parking included. Nothing to pay with the request, a 30% deposit to confirm, the balance on site.
